The Heart of the Matter: Heart Disease and Prevention

We refer to our hearts when we speak about love and caring. But in the day-to-day life, we often don't think about our hearts until we become aware there could be a problem with it. The fact is that any time is a good time to learn more about how you can keep your heart healthy today and prevent problems in the future through exercise, nutrition and education. Although heart disease is often associated with men, it is the leading cause of death for American women: Nearly 500,000 American women die from cardiovascular disease each year.

Make a commitment to take on the challenge of heart and blood diseases through volunteering and donations to the organizations that lead the way to a more heart-healthy future for everyone. Your heart will appreciate the thought.
