Fighting Breast Cancer: You Can Make a Difference

Every day in America, over 500 women will learn they have the disease: more than 200,000 wives, mothers, sisters and friends every year. But survival is more than an option: when it's caught and treated early, breast cancer is beaten by courageous women, every hour of every day. Many organizations are providing money for the search for better treatments, earlier methods of detection, and for a cure to what is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in the U.S. You can help in the battle through donations, volunteering, and taking action, and by learning about the disease and the options available to those who fight against it.

•	There are over two million breast cancer survivors in the US right now.
•	There is a 96% survival rate for breast cancer detected at an early stage.
•	One out of nine women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lives.
•	Excluding skin cancers, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women.
