The presidential election is around the corner and the race for the White House is already in full swing, with rallies, debates, campaign coverage dominating the media.

As witnessed during the 2000 election, every vote can – and does – make a difference. Americans have the power to create positive social and political change both nationally and locally. And there's no better time to start exercising your power and your constitutional privilege than right now. First, register to vote. Second, get informed about the candidates – their issue positions, voting records, campaign finances, and their interest group ratings. Every voter needs access to the facts to make a wise decision. And finally, once the polls open in November, be sure to vote.

Use the resources on this page to learn how to register to vote, where you can research the candidates, support organizations working to get more people registered to vote and more involved with the issues, and how you can volunteer during the election season. Start now!
