Use the Web to Stay in Touch

Create a special place for your volunteers on your Web site. Make a password- protected area on your site where you can provide orientation manuals, tips, and other useful documents to your volunteers.

Instead of a paper newsletter, an e-newsletter for volunteers can be a cheaper and faster alternative. It may also be the preferred way to communicate for some volunteers. E-mail can also be a great way of communicating with volunteers one on one or for sending out reminders and updates.

Don't forget that the Web is an excellent place to recognize the accomplishments of your volunteers as well. Let them inspire others with their stories of their commitment and contributions to your organization.
